iPhone Xs: DESIGN
The new iPhone Xs follows the same premium design language as its predecessors. Not much has changed except for the gold color body and a few antenna bands here and there. It gets a better IP68 rating than the iPhone X, which makes it more durable with waterproof in up to 2 meters for up to minutes and also safe from other liquids such as coffee, soda, etc. The 82.64% screen to body ratio imparts it quite easy to handle size. The notch in the front containing the camera and speaker is beautifully done.
iPhone Xs: DISPLAY
The Bezel-less design brings out the front to an all-display with a 5.8-inch Super Retina OLED display which is set to a pixel density if 458 ppi. The max resolution is quite crisp for such a small device. The display is as fine as it can be delivering lively and vivid images even in bright daylight with an impressive maximum brightness of 625 cd/m². It also supports HDR10 and Dolby vision for an even more enhanced experience with richer colors and preserved detail in highlights and shadow areas, producing lifelike imagery.
iPhone Xs: SOFTWARE
The new iOS 12 brings a very meaningful performance boost for the new iPhones. Along with that it puts in many new features such as enhanced AR capabilities, grouped notifications and improved FaceTime capability to video conference with 32 people at once. The new Screen Time wellness feature can help you reduce your usage and screen time to a healthier limit. Siri shortcuts make Siri way more usable if in-app support is available for developer apps.
iPhone Xs: PERFORMANCE
The more powerful A12 Bionic chip with a new Neural engine imparts some serious flagship features in the new iPhones Xs. Utilizing the excess processing power and the Neural engine’s acceleration for machine learning and AI, the Xs enables things like even faster Face ID and more powerful and accurate contextual search. All this is made possible by the new A12 chip which can perform a whopping 5 trillion operations per second while using much less power. The new GPU on the A12 Bionic chip is improved with 50% better graphics with lesser power usage.
iPhone Xs: BATTERY LIFE
Thanks to the new A12 chip which now utilizes a 7nm fabrication, which makes it great for low power usage. Hence, a much-improved battery life. The iPhone Xs has a 2658 mAh battery which doesn’t seem like much of an upgrade. But it manages to squeeze out almost a full day of mixed usage on a single charge.

iPhone Xs: CAMERA
The iPhone Xs brings a significant upgrade to the camera department with improved sensors and Smart HDR feature. The Front Camera is a 7-megapixel sensor with a f/2.2 lens that takes depth information from the True Depth system to support Portrait Mode and takes away all your blurry selfies. It can now capture 1080p video at 60fps with the help of Cinematic Video Stabilization.
The rear camera is a Dual-lens setup: a f/2.4 lens with a 12-megapixel sensor with flicker detection, and a f/1.8 lens with a 12-megapixel sensor. Both the sensors are bigger now as they collect more light for better low light photography and improved overall imagery. Both cameras take benefit from the A12 chip’s new ISP (Image Signal Processor) and the Neural Engine.
iPhone Xs: VALUE FOR MONEY
The iPhone Xs stand out as a premium device but still very expensive. For a hefty price tag, it still promises good value for a smartphone and a significant improvement over previous iPhones. No matter what you end up paying for it, you are going to love the iPhone Xs.
