he Apple Pro Display XDR is the first 32-inch 6K Retina display, released on 10th December 2019. It is the first Apple-branded monitor since the discontinuation of Thunderbolt Display in 2016. The company mentioned that this model has sufficient thermal management for the continuous operation at 1000 nits of brightness across the entire screen, and up to 1600 nits in an environment cooler than 25 °C. It has efficient backlight control that gives a magnificent contrast between the brightest bright and the blackest black. It delivers more than a billion colors with extraordinary precision. The outcome is an astonishing 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio and brilliant real XDR capabilities. The Apple Pro Display XDR has been introduced with a dynamic range that revolutionizes professional workflow and showcases the world’s best Pro display.
WHY APPLE 6K PRO DISPLAY XDR
The real-life picture needs very bright regions of the screen while other regions extremely dark. An unexpected glow called blooming will produce if there is no accurate backlight control. Apple Pro Display XDR uses modern LED technology, light framing, and smart image processing to reduce blooming. Conventionally, a strip of white LEDs is used to edge-lit LCDs. Now Apple Pro Display XDR has a 2D backlighting system that populates the display with an array of 576 blue LEDs, which are super bright. It also has a graphics chip to rapidly modulate each LED and optimize the image signal so that regions of the screen can be very bright next to the extremely dark regions.
When many people work together on one screen, everyone must see the same thing. Typically, most pro monitors claim a wider viewing angle, but their color and image quality is distorted when viewed off-axis. Apple Pro Display XDR has polarizer technology that maintains extraordinary color and contrasts up to 25x better than an ordinary LCD. This allows the pro display XDR to deliver the super-wide viewing angle.
It is designed for very low reflectivity, and also has nano-textured glass with a new matte option that can be used for an unrestrained lighting environment. Usually, matte screens scatter light due to a coating on their surface that lower the contrast while creating unwanted blur and glare. The nano-texture is carved into the glass of Apple Pro Display XDR so that the result is a display with beautiful picture quality while maintaining contrast and reducing glare to its lowest level.
It is simple to adjust to meet the needs of HDR and other resolutions with wider use such as photography, design, web development, and print. Image replication is constant with function at all points assuring that everyone is always on the same page.
Apple Pro Display XDR launched with two categories standard glass that costs ₹ 449,900 MRP and Nano-texture glass that costs ₹ 529,900 MRP, however, both come with Pro Stand and VESA Mount Adapter. Apple Pro Display XDR has a 32-inch (diagonal) IPS LCD with oxide TFT technology and a resolution of 6016×3384 pixels (20.4 million pixels) at 218 pixels per inch with the Aspect ratio of 16:9. The Viewing angle is Super-wide with high-fidelity color and contrast at 89º left, 89º right, 89º up, 89º down and fully laminated with 1.65% reflectivity.
The technology for color is 2D backlighting system using 576 full array local dimming zones. The timing controller (TCON) chip designed for the accurate control of high-speed modulation of both 20.4 million LCD pixels and for seamless synchronization 576 LEDs in backlight are used. True tone technology is used with a dual ambient light sensor (ALS) for a precise visual experience in any ambient light situation. It has variable frequency rates are 47.95Hz, 48.00Hz, 50.00Hz, 59.94Hz, and 60.00Hz. Most advanced reference modes:
- Pro Display XDR (P3-1600 nits)

Apple Pro Display XDR comes with incredible size and weight. The screen Width is 71.8 cm (28.3 inches), Height is 41.2 cm (16.2 inches), Depth is 2.7 cm (1.1 inches) and the Weight is 7.48 kg (16.49 pounds).
The pro stand is also the amazing part of the display which costs ₹91, 900 MRP. The system has overall height adjustment of 120 millimeters (60 millimeters in each direction from the midpoint) and can be along landscape or portrait with a Tilt from −5° to +25°. The most vital thing is pro stand that Attach and detach conveniently for the fast and smooth transportation. To lock Pro Stand and the display together a puck-shaped magnetic connector is engineered to affix it to the backside of the screen. VESA Mount Adapter is easy to affix and comes with similar design to the magnetic connector on Pro Stand.
There are five connections point in the Pro Display XDR:
- One Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) port, three USB-C ports
- One upstream port for Mac Pro or other Thunderbolt 3 host (96W host charging)
